"I get very passionate about what I think is right."-Hillary Rodham Clinton

Some interesting things…Scientific things

So according to University of Michigan aquatic ecologist Donald Scavia the spill may create a larger dead zone, an area in the Gulf that is depleted of oxygen and Reseachers predict larger-than-average Gulf ‘dead zone’; Impact of oil spill unclear.

But one fact is clear: The combination of summer hypoxia and toxic-oil impacts on mortality, spawning and recruitment is a one-two punch that could seriously diminish valuable Gulf commercial and recreational fisheries…

And then there is this…

Do spending cuts cost lives?

Radical cuts to social welfare spending to reduce budget deficits could cause not just economic pain but cost lives, warn experts in a study published online in the British Medical Journal.

All I can say to that is…no shit! But one thing that gets me is the large amount of people that slip through the cracks. These are the ones that really need some sort of assistance. Those of us that are right at the borderline of qualifying for healthcare. (Cause 2014 is a long way away for some of us.) These are the people at most risk. The ones that do not have healthcare, but are making just over the cutoff to receive Medicaid…these are the ones who can’t afford health insurance, but need it desperately.

But this is another story…

  • Sunday Reads: Don’t expect humanity from a #ShitholePresident
When talking about the racist president in the White House… (and I still can’t believe a year later that turd of a man is the president.) Whether, it be Asshole or Shithole, both words describe both his personality and outlook on and to humanity. Well, I should place a caveat there and state […]
  • Wednesday Reads: Need a Laugh
Yeah, that image above is perfect. That about puts my family’s emotional state on display, “Fuck it all  Man.” My mom’s cancer is back and if you remember, surgery was not an option because of her blood issues and problems with anti-bodies…and chemotherapy was difficult because she could not tolerate the medicine cocktail that was […]
  • Sunday Reads: Make This Weird
Do you think some people consciously start the day saying something like that to themselves? It’s going to get weird…I’m going to make this weird. I think tRump surrounds himself with people who have that sentence as their mantra… I would say that tRump also makes this his chosen path to follow, but I am […]
  • Wednesday Reads: Between a Rock, a Cock and a Hard Place
Which way do you go? That is one tough decision… At any rate, things are getting bad over in the Northeastern United States. I mean, when sharks are becoming “sharkcicles,” it is time to take these cold mutthafukken temperatures for serious. Sharks are freezing to death in the US, due to a record cold winter […]
  • Sunday Reads: New Year 2018
Hell yes, it is time for another fucking year to roll around. So let us start the party early with this kickass artwork by surreal artist Surazica. There is something about that poodle’s attitude that grabbed my attention. You can scroll through some close-ups here: I don’t know what 2018 will bring, but I do […]
  • Wednesday Reads: Go away, almost everybody hates you…
The pick slip… If only, right? So did you hear the latest? The White House to cut back magnolia tree planted by Andrew Jackson – The Washington Post The enormous magnolia tree stood watch by the South Portico of the White House for nearly two centuries. Its dark green, glossy leaves shaded politicians and heads of […]
